About The Event

Caroline Lucas' recently published book, Another England, delves into our literary heritage to explore what it can teach us about the most pressing issues of our time: whether the toxic legacy of Empire, the struggle for constitutional reform, or the accelerating climate emergency. And she sketches out an alternative Englishness: one that we can all embrace to build a greener, fairer future.

Join Caroline Lucas as she discusses how we can reclaim our national story.

Ben Bruges, local poet, will be opening for Caroline. Ben works in education, is co-Features Editor for Hastings Independent, has poems published in multiple publications and is long-listed for the Elizabeth Royal Patton Memorial Poetry Competition.

Duration approximately one hour

A Super Saturday ticket is available for this event - the special ticket gives reduced price entry to all festival events on Saturday 21st Sept as well as a 20% discont on food and drink in THe Observer Cafe throughout the day.

This event is being sponsored by local company, Kiley's Karpets. We thank them for their generous and continued support of the Hastings Book Festival
